Just when you thought it was a thing of the past, PED made its presence felt again with two more cases in Ontario.

On January 15, a new case of PED was reported in a farrow to partial finish barn in Bruce County. One week later, another case was reported in a finisher barn in Huron County.

With Seneca Valley Virus lurking and PED still hanging on, biosecurity continues to be a critical component for Alberta producers.

To help with that, Alberta Pork has two tools available: The Biosecurity Risk Assessment and the new Alberta Pork Biocontainment Plan.

You can download both of these tools here , or contact Javier Bahamon at the Alberta Pork office to have them sent to you: 1-877-247-7675, javier.bahamon@albertapork.com.
